On November 20, 1977, the Lord established His church. The momentous event started at the Villanueva’s residence located at 56 Road 8 corner Road 3, Project 6, Quezon City, where the Lord sent His messengers, Atty. Gertrudo Aquino and Bro. Jess Hilao, Jr. to share His message of love and salvation to the Villanueva and Alvarez families, who later, by the grace of the Lord, delivered one of their young girls from the bondage of Satan. The two families, after the deliverance, sooner gave their lives to the Lord and heeded His call to start and build His church – Christ Is Coming – which He himself had spoken and given the name through spiritual visions. In one of these visions, the Lord showed the name of the church (Christ Is Coming) on top of a raging sea, signifying what sort of troubles, persecutions, pains, and trials the church will suffer in the future, as it will grow under His firm leadership and sustaining grace.
True enough, over the years, the church suffered pains, isolation and persecutions, not so much from the unbelievers, but from its own brethren – accusing the church as a cult. The many so-called Christian churches could hardly believe that God can still speak today in the midst of His people through His ordained prophets and prophetesses. Knowingly or unknowingly, they seemed to have forgotten that inquiring the Lord through the Ministry of Prophets was God’s ordained way in the early years of Christian churches, particularly during the time of Peter and Paul. What He had done in the ancient past, such as in the Old and New Testaments, He still does today!
Surely, the church is truly mighty and strong, and continues to stand unshaken under the firm and solid foundation which is none other than our Lord Jesus Christ himself. (Matthew 16:16; 1 Corinthians 3:11; Ephesians 2:20).
Today, looking back, since the inception of the church thirty-one years ago, it continues to grow in great numbers according to His divine plan – building churches in many parts of the country and around the world. It continues to be administered by the Lord through his appointed pastors, elders, MOP, and leaders of the church. It is soon expected that the Lord’s prophecy regarding Christ Is Coming Global Ministry will be fulfilled as new churches are being added into its growing list.
The Christ Is Coming church is greatly grateful and thankful to our Lord Jesus Christ, Who through the years has been true and faithful, and has also been its inexhaustible source of strength, joy, peace, life, guidance and power.
